generation of irish dance. birds of a feather flock together and it is precisely in these moments that danish photographer saren pulls out his camera the images he captures of starlings in flight look like giant creatures or even abstract paintings in the sky well what started out as a temporary project for this photographer has turned into a journey lasting several years. you wait for a week or 2 weeks nothing couples but then within a few seconds everything changes and suddenly the sky explodes. it is one of the most exciting things i've ever experienced in my life. my name is sun sorcha i'm a danish photographer i photograph starting memory since some very fascinated by the shapes that make in the sky. the magic usually happens when the flock of starlings is attacked by birds of prey. as a defense mechanism they create be some very organic shapes that these black waves going through the flock and actually happen so quickly that you don't even realize sometimes what you've seen. the. difference land region in the north of the netherlands photographers' evans i care has travelled here from denmark for his project black sun. i've worked in 6 different countries so far and so i do a lot of research to find out where the birds are. all i can do is research and turn up and then hope for the best. i've been out probably a 120 days in the last 4 years and i probably have between 5 and 10 very good nights. i saw starting memory since when i was a little kid my parents took me to the west coast that much when i was 10 that was an image that never left me really. and i did portraits for 25 years. i suddenly it came to me that i wanted to go back to see those starlings and try to photograph them. continues to make portraits as well he's taking photos of celebrities like amy winehouse. the white stripes. and. that's really been my specialty something that i've been pretty obsessed with. i've completed it's 5 different books of portraits of mainly famous people the new project. that i've been. doing for a while is very different it's nature. it's very humbling in a way it's. the heart to museum of contemporary art in a danish city hanging is now showing his photos in a major exhibition. one single bird in photoshop in this project. its nature. its nature at its most surreal. these magical moments occur by themselves in the church. originally you seem to recto hard to remember plan to exhibit selections photos of danish pop stars but the pictures of the black sun series made such an impression on him that he changed his plan we know what's going on we can explain it and at the same time we see something which is so incredibly beautiful that it is difficult to comprehend. 0 because planned to spend one week with the starlings turned into a 4 year project with every picture is totally different i have not in 4 years experienced the same most have twice. so that gives me great incentive to keep going and i'm far from done with this project i think i will keep going for a few more years. time now for a blast from the past and fans of the 1980 s. t.v. show knight rider may recognize this car well this is the high tech talking trans-am kit
