President ial debate in Cleveland Ohio between President Donald Trump and his democratic opponent by now we want to talk a little bit about they ran over so were running out of time but im joined by stacy bevins in the studio and i Washington Bureau chief in is paul whos been watching the debate and a republican supporter viewing party in milwaukee wisconsin 1st of all start with you your reactions what stood out this was a bit like herding cats it was just a little bit all over the place the moderator was struggling did a good job but was struggling i think that i was struck a lot by tone and then certain phrasing i think that donald trump did what he went out to do which is to be destructive when average joe biden was starting to get a little bit of momentum he would enter jacked the annoying and then that would kind of slow things down a bit and then you know joe biden would have to run like the flintstones and try to restart and gain women to move forward my favorite line though in this debate had to do with talking about covert and the struggles that the u. S. Has and how donald trump reacted to it and there was a saying trouble well back it is what it is tonight biden says it is what it is because you are who you are you panic the American People dont panic and i thought that that was probably one of the strongest messages throughout the night i think like i said. Trump was able to disrupt and i think that. Even though they were kind of soft spoken he was able to get in a few jabs ok herding cats you know sort of you know him as id like to come to you because you were following the debate at a republican viewing party how did the debate go down with the drug trump supporters. Hear your voice. Well it was really obviously the was not about politics and all but about personal appeal from score to spoil he just proved what you wanted to prove at least in the reception of the republican supporters here in milwaukee in wisconsin the cheese shop that use this as a cheese power he just says stacy said interrupted biden constantly biden was easily thrown off his hoss he hardly could finish its engines so there was a lot of laughter and there was a lot of applause in between and no doubt at least here. From supporter area trump is the absolute clear winner. Of the debate didnt get why fractious and personal at times hes one incident trump attack where trump attacked by metabolism. When i was one of many personal attacks i did come from both sides but trump in particular attacked by. Several times how do you think i responded to that those attacks well i think that in the beginning it was a little bit we were hes like this isnt true this isnt true he kept saying that it wasnt true but the last point when donald trump attacked hunter for having a drug problem i think that that was very raw the way that he looked Vice President biden and the way that he respond and said hes very proud of his son for overcoming his addiction and i think that if youre an American Voter and youve lost of loved ones the cove it or youve lost your job or youre watching you know other parts of the world like parts of europe being able to go out and youre not you dont want to hear that youre not the president of the United States attack somebody for having a drug problem i think it came across as low how do you think this compared to other bites to debates just briefly the same in the past distancing its a lot quieter its quieter its a little bit more boring i. Say i guess the sparring made it a little bit more interesting that when you have fewer people there theyre the theyre able to react because theres no crowd and as i just want to quickly ask you before we have to wrap up to you think this is likely to swing any voters come november. No i dont think.
