Media well go live to tehran also coming up. North korean officials reopen a key line of communication to the south this move comes amidst a sudden thawing tensions between the two rivals as leaders on both sides call for dialogue. To town a listers uniting to say times off on tolerating harassment and abuse will look at the new campaign being braced by women in hollywood. And the u. S. President trump hitting twitter with a flurry of warnings to americas adversaries we look ahead to what could be a turbulent year for the white house at home and abroad. Plus the drug crisis thats wreaking havoc in communities around the United States we need some of the young people paying a heavy price for their parents diction. Im brian thomas a very warm welcome to the show we start this program in iran where antigovernment protests are sweeping the country at least twenty one people have now been killed hundreds have been arrested the countrys Supreme Leader has blamed foreign meddling as Security Forces struggled to contain the boldest challenge to irans clerical leadership for nearly a decade the u. S. Ambassador to the United Nations nikki haley has called for an emergency session at the u. N. Security council on the situation in iran after six days of demonstrations protesters are showing no sign of backing down. Video footage reaching dortch yvel or through social media shows the extent of the unrest spreading across iran. The violence which is rocked the country for nearly a week appears if anything to be escalating. These pictures from the Central Province of is for han unverified. Official state television says six people died this protesters stormed this police station. Supreme leader ayatollah ali how many accuses enemies of iran of stirring up the unrest. Bushmen Montazeri Iqbal the anime is poised for an opportunity breach to penetrate through that look at the incidents in the past few days all those who are against the Islamic Republic of iran those with cash and politics weapons and intelligence operators you can join hands to create trouble that opposition leaders say the demonstrators are demanding far reaching reforms more changes even radical changes. They want to change pretty much everything all in short they want to live differently. Yeah its true that improving the Economic Situation is very important for them. But its not only about that to discern economy it is impossible its an opinion also has the protests widen irans president has some rouhani has expressed sympathy for peaceful demonstrators worried about making ends meet thats unlikely to satisfy their demands. Lets go straight to tehran now and in correspondent Eric Randolph eric these are the biggest protests since two thousand and nine are they a threat to the islamic regimes power well i must say that actually overnight. But its very difficult to get reports from the provinces but from what we can see on social media from what ive seen and there are it does seem to be dying down a bit i think its the fact that the establishment really closed ranks yesterday blaming foreign enemies for starting the spots of seeing out the heavy Police Presence that weve see seems to douse down some of the on rest of theres no question these protests have shaken islamic rule those. Who require some street actually theres a great deal of action in the coming weeks eric you mentioned tehran theyre accusing foreign powers of being behind the unrest have they produced any evidence for that. Well they point to the fact that messages and all my passion and so did primarily coming from regional rivals saudi arabia from exile groups in britain and america it was on the phone to the president was on fire his french counterpart and i know my prof last night. Complaining about the opposition groups recruit terrorists we allocate our base this and that i did but i think a lot of people in the streets while they are suspicious of intervention by outsiders will recognize that there are legitimate and serious economic problems that are driving this unrest within iran ok what do you hear in tehran about the possibility that the trumpet ministration will use these protests as a wedge to force tehran to renegotiate the nuclear deal that the president s threatened to pull out of. Well i think people on the streets of iran. Not fans of it on trial since he banned them from entering the country including terrorists last year and they were particularly angry when he referred to the arabian gulf rather than the persian go so he doesnt have a lot of cache with people already i think a lot of them see him opportunistic using these protests in order to put more pressure on iran im not sure that the street will welcome that at the same time they feel that this is an internal issue that talking about economic problems about problems they have with their government i dont think those looking to outsiders too much since the problems are grand all thanks so much for that from tehran. Well north korea says it will reopen a suspended Communications Line with south korea in what may be a sign of thawing tensions north Korean Leader kim jong un ordered the reconnecting of the hotline at the countrys border the two koreas have been making overtures to improving ties since new years thats when kim signaled that he wants to see north korean athletes crossing the border to join next months Winter Olympics in the south. And ever more on the story were joined now by josh smith hes covering this for us in seoul josh whats behind this surprise announcement to reopen this important skill line of communication well this is something of a hope for at least development in the wake of cames new years day speech in which he did signal a willingness to send north korean. North korean athletes to the upcoming winter games what remains to be seen however is whether the two sides will be able to agree on all the potential issues surrounding that kind of participation which is obviously heavily politicized these days given the situation surrounding north Koreas Nuclear program ok were hearing from the south that it is open to talks with pyongyang about its Nuclear Program about its Missile Program is this a divergence from americas approach to pyongyang. Well kim in fact is is someone who right now seems to not want to talk about his Nuclear Program in the same speech he asked the world to accept north korea accept the reality of north korea as a nuclear arms state so when south korea talks about its the need to link any talks potentially about the olympics to these broader issues of Nuclear Weapons and things like that its still staying on the same page in many ways as places Like Washington where officials have expressed skepticism over any talks that dont address these larger issues surrounding the Nuclear Program ok should we also then be skeptical about the reopening of this line of communication is it a deescalation or is it simply another phase in this standoff. Well it is certainly something that officials here are keen to try to exploit. Its something that has not been available for some time were talking about very limited communications between the two sides and this would be some of the most direct and most public communication in months and so even most cynical observers do see this as better than nothing and he way that could eventually lead to reduce tensions josh thanks so much for that from seoul. Now for a look at some of the other stories making the news today the Roman Catholic church in congo has condemned a crackdown on protests against president Joseph Kabila as quote barbarism Security Forces have killed at least seven people in news tear gas during demonstrations sunday in the capital kinshasa conflict activists and organized protests over to be refusal to leave office. Two children and four adults were killed by a tanker truck fire after an accident occurred on a motorway between italian towns of brush and term a crash happened after a truck hit a Passenger Car sending it into the back of the tanker which then exploded. At least twenty nine people have been killed and more than twenty injured in clashes in south sudan a state official said that the violence broke out between rival clans competing for control of grazing land the fighting occurred in terra kept a state thats about eighty kilometers north of the capital juba. Well during the upcoming Coalition Talks here in germany to form a new government requests from refugees to reunite with their families will be one issue topping the agenda now it is a politically charged complicated and expensive process and when German Authorities approved family reunifications the red tape in places like greece that can prolong their wait our next report looks at what this means for the people caught up in the middle who say theyre the victims of broken promises. More yard and his younger brother abdul rahman like living in cologne their new home but they say they can only be truly content when the rest of their family joins them the two brothers traveled along the balkan route from syria and arrived in germany two summers ago theyve been waiting for their parents to join them legally ever since. People here told us it would only take about a month or two but two years have gone by in the meantime has been raising his little brother on his own he speaks with his parents every day on skype he says his mother has the same question each time. What did you do in school today. The rest of the alissa family is stuck in the northern greek city of thessaloniki despite permission from German Authorities they havent been able to travel to cologne their case seems to be stalled in greek bureaucracy. Its so hard and very best so far away i wish i could give them a hug one of them was on the phone. For the family going back to syria is unthinkable even once the war ends one of five sons was shot dead in aleppo he was twenty two years old. And i still dream about him all the time. In the last one he laid his head on my lap and i stroked his. I told the military man that i missed him. The other children try to keep their parents spirits up eighteen year old amar goes to school in thessaloniki but shes taught herself to speak german in hopes of joining her brothers in cologne and studying further shes tired of living in limbo. But i wouldnt even and. Its been two years since ive seen my brothers and all of us my siblings its such a long time that i dont miss this so. In cologne the two brothers have to be patient along with their parents some forty five hundred other refugees are waiting to join their families in germany we asked the German Federal office for refugees and migration with some of the family reunification seem to be taking one of the arguments was that everything needs to be done with the greek authorities and thats not always. Has this message for his parents until he sees them again his family sort of i miss you and im waiting for you is for. He adds that hes ready to wait as long as he has to until his whole family can be together in germany. Still to come here on the program to sell town a listers unite to say i was up for lent and abuse well look at the new campaign being embraced by the women of hollywood. Well germanys labor market is in solid shape has been for some time now and were looking at some possibly historic levels of employment kristoff thats right brian some people have been calling it a job wonder and indeed the development is remarkable the number of people employed in germany in twenty seventeen has reached its highest level in ten year forty four point three million thats according to the German Statistics Office economists at the evil institute say the Strong Economy will continue to create jobs in the coming years theyre forecasting the number of employed people to grow to forty four point eight million this year and more than four. The five million in twenty nine t. As you can see right there now the Service Sector enjoyed the strongest job growth last year but the manufacturing construction and agriculture sectors all added substantially to the work force. Now for some more analysis of germanys labor market lets bring in Holger Schmieding hes the chief economist at bear and bird bank he joins me from our parliamentary studio welcome to the program what is the main driver of the growing employment numbers in germany there are two main drivers of the growing german employment figures the first is germany is simply a good place to invest and to create jobs thats due to the labor market reforms that were implemented some thirteen years ago the second point is obvious we are enjoying a global cyclical upswing strong Economic Growth in major parts of the world including germany at that of course means more gains in jobs now what do you make of the fact that the employment in the Service Sector grew the strongest should a country with a Strong Industrial sector like germany both jobs in this segment particularly. Well a Strong Economy like germany is should be adding jobs in many sectors and thats whats germany is doing and quite naturally the biggest gains are in parts of the Service Sector those which are what economists call labor intensive that is where you actually need a lot of people to do the tasks that is for instance in health care which can be automated that much thats a new earthing care thats in a few other sectors like that but even industry jobs growth is pretty good now at the same Time Companies continue to complain that there is a shortage of skilled workers how does that fit in with the growing job numbers. What this means is germany could be creating even more drop than its currently doing if there were more people around a good deal of the jobs growth that germany is seeing is coming from people staying long go on the job from women entering the workforce in even greater numbers than before and to some extent of course from migrants mostly those from other European Countries who have come over recent years and how can this issue of the shortage of skilled workers be addressed in the future. That basically germany needs a better Education System and it needs an immigration system which makes it even easier for skilled people from abroad to come in not just from europe but also skilled people from from places beyond europe to fill the jobs that are available so the employment figures in germany are at a ten year high what happened to the fear that digitalization and the rise of robots would kill tens of thousands of these positions well it way the rise of robots and of the digital age that has prevented the games in even more jobs german industry is raising its output even more that its raising employment because the german industry is adding robots but all in all the gains in industrial output the gains in Services Mean that all in all the drops are plentiful these spite is specially in industry low bots taking over a few tasks german employment reaches historic levels holders meetings thank you so much for your analysis youre welcome. Well thanks very strong upswing in Business Activity germanys economy is doing well there are now more people working in the country than ever before it pushed down the Unemployment Rate to the lowest since german reunification for more on that story visit d. Its to the United States now and in the wake of the scandal that began with the accusations against the mogul Harvey Weinstein hundreds of hollywood stars have joined forces to fight sexual abuse in the workplace a list celebrities are backing a multimillion dollar legal fund to fight Sexual Harassment the campaigns aimed at people on low Wage Industries or often most vulnerable to exploitation times up the time for putting up with Sexual Harassment is over three hundred powerful women from the business and entertainment world starting a campaign and using that status to help those women who have none that bring that support but ordinary workers to take that torment is to court. The launch has already raised thirty Million Dollars and that figure is sure to rise actresses such as Reese Witherspoon and eva longoria launched their appeal in the New York Times and in an open letter there are also demanding tough penalties for companies that tolerate all downplay harassment alongside top actresses a well known producers and lawyers together they are fighting against Sexual Harassment and shocking statistics like these one in three women between the ages of eighteen and thirty four has been sexually molested in the workplace and in low paid jobs Sexual Harassment is even more likely times ups first action came two weeks ago when they brought lawyer anita hill on board. Both again this is the interview news live from berlin our top stories this hour violent unrest continues into a sixth day in iran where at least twenty one people have been killed amidst protests the u. S. Ambassador to the United Nations that he haley has called for an emergency session as a Security Council to discuss the situation. Well in his tweets kicking off the new year u. S. President donald trump has threaten the palestinian leadership backed the protesters in iran and hit back at north Koreas Kim Jong un whos threatened the u. S. In his new years speech trump tweeted i to ave clear button but it is much bigger and more powerful one than his and my button works trump also threaten to cut aid to the palestinian leadership saying we pay the palestinians hundreds of millions of dollars a year palestinians no longer willing to talk peace why should we make any of the massive future payments to them the us president also took a swipe at around saying the people of iran are finally acting against the brutal and corrupt the reigning regime all of the money that president obama so foolishly gave them went to do terrorism and to their pockets while twenty eight hundred promises to be another year of challenges for the us president from the investigations into alleged links between russia and Trumps Campaign advisers to tensions with north korea the president has a lot on his plate our washington correspondent carson phenomenon sent us this report on what to look out for in u. S. Politics this year. There is little dolls who will dominate the headlines in the United States this year once again donald trump like him or not the president has up and its washingtons way of doing business we broke every record its the largest i always say the most massive but its the largest tax cut in the history of our country tax reform might be trumps only big legislative achievement so far but the president has used his many powers to change the us for years to come the environments Consumer Rights immigration Foreign Relations trade and the judiciary have all been affected donald trump has even changed the way journalism works these days this is arguably the most important tool of journalists covering the white house has a smartphone to follow the president s twitter feed and to find old what is on Donald Trumps mind today or the next hour or the next minute until the next week anyway on average the president treats seven times a day in addition to speeches and other statements trump rants against what he calls fake news parents conspiracy theories and so its opponents celebrities and even members of its own party and praises himself for his real or imagined achievements like ending the alleged war on christmas i told you that we would be saying Merry Christmas again my and donald trump certainly isnt done yet his next big project is infrastructure the United States might be the worlds only remaining global superpower at least for now but back home much of its infrastructure is crumbling like this hybrid just outside washington. I the president hopes that his new initiative will for a change be popular across party lines but there are still many open questions like what kind of Infrastructure Projects youll bridges and airports or will equip schools and hospitals and whos going to pay for that Donald Trumps tax reform already blows a big coal into the federal budget and then infrastructure package for a come on top of that now some republicans want to cut welfare programs to plug that hole but thats a no go for the Democratic Party especially in an Election Year and in fact the democrats stand a good chance to win a majority in both chambers of congress in autumn after all trumps Approval Ratings are at a record low for any u. S. President in modern history of to a year in office they hover at around thirty five percent so his biggest hope for a boost in popularity is continued Economic Growth or perhaps the outbreak of a Major International crisis. Nothing makes americans rally behind their president like the threat of war and in particular when it comes to north korea and its Nuclear Program trump hasnt been holding back they will be met with fire fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never see before and there are quite a few people here in washington who fear that trump might follow through on his threats this year the rhetoric of trump and some of his supporters on north korea shows parallels to the Bush Administration just before the invasion of iraq and so it raises some eyebrows when the commandant of the u. S. Marine corps recently told his troops a war is coming and they should be prepared for a big fight. The pentagon quickly backpedaled saying the marines show its always be prepared but with such an unpredictable commander in chief not everyone is reassured so two thousand eight hundred promises once again to be a turbulent dhea in the u. S. And the role in the world. Well just how turbulent joining me now is stephen fish professor of Political Science at the university of california berkeley good morning thanks for being with us this morning stephen the president started the new year with some hard hitting tweets so what do you expect to see from them and twenty eighteen well i would say probably more but we saw in two thousand and seventy breaking out in a serial way democratic norms the United States doing things that no other president has ever done this is a very different kind of president his biggest challenge has been really to american democracy as well as to americas commitment in the world and i think were probably going to see more of that in two thousand and eighty ok you know on the other side of this stephen politico ran an article this morning saying the one year of the prince president s is shown that democracy is working in america that the constitution works for example is that a take that you would agree with. I would to some extent i think its remarkable on the one hand that the Republican Party of the United States this is after all the governing party no one congress or the main party in congress has been so slow to stand up to trump this i think along with troops only hate here is the most alarming thing this is the challenge to democracy im talking about on the other hand some of the institutions do seem to be working the investigative institutions are working the bureaucracy the Media Civil Society have really come alive in ours and are actually putting up a fight the Democratic Free to is done a fairly good job in opposition so i can see it both ways certainly the institutions are working but these are real challenges its not clear that the institutions alone will be Strong Enough ok lets talk about a couple of those institutions the federal the congressional probes into alleged ties between russia and the Trump Campaign advisors remain ongoing do you expect to see any breakthrough there in twenty eight team either way. You know in terms of the congressional probe it looks like the probe in the house might break down there are a lot of tropi and folks in the house on the House Investigating Committee that seem to be against the investigation Going Forward at all in the senate it seems like the investigation is going to go forward but its not clear yet what theyre going to turn up i think what we will probably see in two thousand and eight that will be of greatest note is that Robert Mueller the man at the f. B. I. Who is undertaking his investigation there will almost certainly come up with much more than he has so far hes been you know getting his ducks in line we still dont know what his findings are hes been remarkably quiet this whole time hes really told us very little of what to expect but i do expect were going to hear something something very important from him probably in the first half of the year ok also in the first half of this year were expecting a big fight over the wall and the Dreamers Program with possibly the Republicans Party even splitting on that do you see that as shaping up to be the big issue in the first half of this year no i dont think so the dreamers perhaps although most republicans are really very wary about alienating the latino vote in the United States so there is no rush to end that programs trump seems to be hell bent on it most republicans are certainly not going to get behind the wall idea and the democrats have drawn a line there and said not a dime for it so honestly i think truth might still making keep making noise but i really doubt hes going to make much progress on the wall thats a tricky i dont think its going to go anywhere ok if he doesnt make progress on the wall does he risk then losing his base. Key point but you know his base seems to be kind of you know amenable to whatever red meat he throws them he can always make some comments that indicate a kind of preference for white people he can say of you know a few things about abortion or guns and that seems to be enough for the base i dont think the fact that hes going to be unable to build the wall will actually shake his base in part because a lot of those folks will just blame Congress Though say trump wants to do the right thing by them the right thing of course but Congress Keeps blocking it ok now crucial for the president of course and for the democrats for the opposition are the midterm elections for congress and the senate theyre approaching very quickly now how do you see that going is there the danger that the republicans for them will lose their majorities in either even both houses. Will certainly the democrat the prospect of the democrats winning the house back the house of representatives is reasonably good in fact all indications are now that the democrats of course its tip its too early to say for sure but the democrats are in enough of a roll to be able to take back the house of representatives that would be a very big deal because then youd have one of the two houses of congress controlled by the democrats they could even start impeachment proceedings its unlikely i think that the senate will revert to democratic control the democrats are certainly doing very well right now if you look at the polling and whether people could people prefer democrats or republicans but there are so many Democratic Senators up for a lot for reelection in the senate and not very many republicans so strictly the electoral scheduling demographics right now still favor the republicans in the senate stephen thanks very much for that look ahead and have a great twenty to explain my pleasure. Well now the challenge for the United States in the new year is its Opioid Crisis every day dozens of americans die from drug overdoses now the children of drug addicts are the other often unseen victims in this crisis some are removed from their parents care for their own safety and given to foster parents our next report focuses on one girl who has endured immense hardships as the daughter of recovering drug addicts its a moment fifteen year old Athena Gregory can enjoy when she can focus just on herself behind her lines a horrific childhood as the daughter of drug addicts she foresaw responsibility for herself her little brother and her parents you always have to stick by your parents side. Even when they are doing what they arent supposed to do you have to hope as much as possible and be as brave as possible. Back then there was no such thing as cooking a meal together the family moved constantly and they often lack basic necessities at the end they lived in a motel athenas parents existed in a drunk fuelled heinous first pills then heroin. You know i went my hair when i had athena with me and i was in the basement of this these peoples house and i was shooting heroin in their house and she was upstairs in the living room watching t. V. And shed run through the house to try to get rid of everything she would find our heroine and she would flush it down the toilet or she would break the needles. And then in the hands you know were just getting a matter of her a lake why you know why would she do that. It was very clear why. She was just wanted us to stop. The authorities intervened when athena was eleven and she and her brother was sent to foster parents. And. The lady said you and your brother are going to come with me and were walking down the stairs and i just remember seeing my dad like crying and just being like i promise were going to get you back i promise were going to see you and stuff with drug addiction in the u. S. Across the country the numbers of those affected have skyrocketed experts say its an epidemic including here in florida. Drug abuse dictates many peoples lives especially in poorer areas one result neglected children. Orphanages are rare in the u. S. Instead the government relies on foster families to take in children at risk and geo seek out suitable foster families for increasing numbers of children. In this region alone there are almost three times as many foster kids as there were three years ago when a child is taken in here he or she needs comfort clothing and a new home the Safe Children Coalition also has presence on hand just in case a child is removed on his or her birthday. If no relatives are willing or able to help Brenda Slater and her team have four hours to find a new family in accordance with regulations our entire circuit has been removing an average of eighty five children a month so we had a day last week where we had ten children removed in one night within two hours so when situations like that happen you know were calling foster parents but there are not enough foster families to take on this important responsibility. As a foster mother she took an eight in when he was nine months old and made sure that his contact with his birth mother never broke off kate explains how it is when drug addicted parents suddenly take a sober view of their own lives to keep that momentum going to day in and day out when youre sober for maybe the first time in your life and youre confronting all sorts of restricts me out what i hear about whether overcoming but when they are when you think about what they have to go through day to day if they can see that maybe every day and its like this is what i work for this is what im doing thats. The court gave his mother one year to get her life in order after she had overdosed on heroin since they had a. Background of drug use and my other two children are in my custody because of my drug use you know they gave me a case plan right away and at that moment i was like ok now im done thats it so i wasnt going to lose you know another child into the system because i wanted to go and use drugs. Katherine has made it after eight months she got her child back but she fears her past might destroy her childrens future. You know im very scared because its more likely for an addicts children to become addicts and i know that ive struggled with it for a while and that would actually kill me to watch my child with it. In my. Maryland the Gregory Family are picking up their youngest from the School Bus Stop for years the big sister athena was the only reliable parent substitute for anthony who suffers from autism and epilepsy his mother even used drugs while she was pregnant with him now shes playing with a guilty conscience. And ill never know if my actions had anything to do with how he turned out but i cant help but think about it and always think about it you know hes going to pay for something. That i chose to do for us in his life with a. Shes not as worried about athena the teen violence to never go near drugs. Further i just want to prove to people that i dont have a higher risk of that and that i am myself i me and my brother are us we are not based off of our past and now were we are the family that we are now we are nothing like we were before. Athena knows exactly what she wants after High School Graduation she wants to go to Beauty School her dream is to have her own salon. Its to israel now where protests have been growing against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu netanyahu is under mounting pressure after police opened an investigation for possible bribery fraud and breach of trust the Prime Minister is denying the allegations and calls him politically motivated our correspondent tony kramer went to one of the protests calling for netanyahu to step down. Baby go home baby go home for the past five weeks every saturday thousands have been demonstrating in tel aviv against corruption what started as a small weekly protest organized by a former employee of the netanyahu president has now gained pace people here would like to see the corruption investigations into israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu move forward they stealing my money my taxes my future. Thats why im here simple as that im walking here because the government is corrupt b b a Prime Minister should go home immediately and it works out that i want to change the government because i think it is corrupt that its whats written here you go home the time has arrived they have been in power for too long which will exactly fall down for months the police have been investigating the people around the israeli Prime Minister netanyahu in surface question six times his former chief of staff is now a key witness there three investigations case three thousand has to do with possible private pay doing the purchase of german submarines netanyahu has not been accused himself but some of his trusted advisers have in another case netanyahu allege he tried to influence to publisher of the daily newspaper to make his coverage more positive and in the most prominent case to date authorities suspect him of preceding gifts from Business People and Close Friends champagne cigars together with tens of thousands of check outs we have this cloud hanging over the governments head of three different criminal investigations involving the Prime Minister and at any given point any of them could lead to a police recommendation to indict netanyahu Benyamin Netanyahu windsurf has repeatedly denied all charges calling the accusations against his family an obsessive returned by the left wing and by a hostile media. Our correspondent in israel and the author of that report tanya trainer joins us now tanya are the cause for netanyahu resignation gaining any traction is he vulnerable well been if you have to see it started as a small protest over a year ago in a small town this is where the attorney general lives and the people there activists that started this whole idea of demonstrations they wanted you know to put pressure on the attorney general to move forward with the investigation and now in december they moved this kind of demonstration to tend to be even that was at a point when there was a lot of public anger. About a controversial draft bill that would say that the police that would prevent Israeli Police to publicly recommend whether to indict a person Public Interest or not now this protest movement at that point by the read a lot of people coming out in the streets and somehow netanyahu had to bow to this public pressure i mean he wasnt want to put in this draft that it was allies of him but he had this to be said to be retarded as not to be seen to apply to ongoing investigations so i think you know what is really important here this has been ongoing for quite a while and all of the public knows is due to leaks and media a lot of speculation as well and it will come down to what will be the findings in this investigation especially when it comes to the gifts affair this is the case one thousand votes and pains you guys and whether the protesters can keep the momentum to keep you know to get people out on the streets ok now netanyahu saying its his political rivals who are behind this or pushing this is there anything to that. Well i mean that is what pam is netanyahu has repeatedly said he dismissed all the accusations he always says and there was nothing and they will be nothing and hes basically accusing the opposition of the left wing media and that he has also accused the police saying that you know there are a lot of recommendations but most of the recommendations they lead to nothing and that is to tarnish the reputation so that people are best to get it i mean him and his unless theyre saying this is to overthrow the government i think you have to kind of camp those people who are going out in the studio but even also ordinary israelis who dont go out in the street theyre saying but you also heard in the report you know you has been there for too long. You want to see what is actually will you be indicted or not what what what are the findings and then you have still a very large. Group of supporters for netanyahu his power base that is saying he might have his flaws that might be some kind of corruption but its not id turn to him he would have to stay so i think it will come down to that i mean what are the what will be the findings how severe they would be and when will they somehow also influence will he become a burden to this own party and at the moment dont know theres just a lot of speculation there might take quite a while to know ok now briefly if you could Israels Parliament passed just a few days ago a law that some say is an attempt to muzzle the investigations into netanyahu what do you make of that. Well this is the law that i was talking about this is going to be common decency. There was a lot of anger in the public and there was a lot of public pressure to redraft the legislation that it was passed now but it will not apply to under any investigations but of course it was seen as very highly problematic and this is why there was a lot of pressure to change that but it will be a problem when it will come to investigations that have not been even started i mean in the future ok tanya kramer thanks so much for that from israel get your modern out of the top stories were following for you at this hour violent unrest in ten years into a six day in iran where at least twenty one people been killed in the protests the u.
