Austrias new chancellor is sworn in adding a right Wing Coalition he has pledged to get tough on immigration but thousands turned out in protest. Last remembering the dead as germany prepares to mark the First Anniversary of the berlin Christmas Market truck attack the families of the victims say they are stunned at the way they have been treated by germany over the last twelve months. And in bonus they go football had to berlin sign off for christmas with a win will get the highlights from their ten man triumph against live say going into the winter break. Im serious almost gonna thank you for. Joining us on this International Migrants day were looking at this down ding number there are an estimated sixty six Million People around the world who have been forced to leave their homes seventeen percent of them are in europe the greek island of lesbos for example is now home to thousands of migrants and the main camp there is the maria refugee camp but it is those outside the camp in makeshift homes who live in particularly squalid conditions and tensions with the local community are rising oliver salat has this exclusive report from les foss. Can barely move his fingers its the morning after another cold night on the greek island of lesbos. And his friends ran out of firewood long ago. And now theyll use whats left of this Cardboard Box to heat todays first cup of tea. From iraq hes been here on the island of lesbos for two months know in a makeshift camp just outside the morea refugee camp. We are many. Three but we dont have. A different. City. Next door is the official camp it looks like a high security prison made for refugees that have come to the greek islands in the hopes of continuing on to north and europe they have to wait here until their asylum applications have been processed authorities strictly for bit filming here. Who are ever youll look youll see garbage and thesis and People Living right in the midst of it the refugee camp is full far beyond its capacity and with more people arriving than leaving conditions here are getting worse every day. Wants to show us whats happening inside the camp so we follow him with a hidden camera. The air is filled with the stench of smoke garbage and feces the United Nations high commissioner for refugees or u. N. H. C. R. Recently said that moria was dangerous for women and children but they are the ones who must stay here. It seems like a miracle that epidemics havent spread within the camp yet. Its. Security what. You see. Many refugees have taken matters into their own hands to stay warm knowledge that its getting colder they simply lied old trees. These trees belong to local residents feel this and still use visits his fields he has to struggle to maintain his composure. Well off to come in but about all these trees are burnt anybody theres nothing left of these trees wont grow again theyre finished there are one hundred twenty trees and now theres only four of all of that about this and nobody cares the authorities wont stop this they got enough or compensate us every night these people cut down the trees and burned them. There with. The village of moria is in a state of emergency. It is another villagers me to regularly to discuss ways to deal with the situation with. The local mayor nikos truck haleys has just returned from talks with the greek government in athens the news isnt good. If the situation goes on like this it wont take long before we have physical confrontation up to now we are tolerating the looting of peoples assets and its fortunate things havent become violent yet. But its a matter of time before that happens. Ahmed al majid left his country to escape violence he doesnt want to be lumped together with lawbreakers he wants to leave less because but for now a ferry ticket to athens remains just a distant dream. That report from oliver salih who has returned from less falls and joins us here in our studio thank you all of are we saw that you film secretly inside that camp tell us more about what you saw and experienced there well first of all this refugee camp was initially set up for two and a half thousand people only in while there are more than six thousand libron living inside that camp and you have to imagine this feels like being in a small town almost in spite of that area being quite small it takes you maybe for only five minutes to walk through there but six thousand people that means this is the size of a small town with people trying to follow their daily routines there even cooking their own open fireplaces theyre trying to you know to sleep to have to have lunch breakfast and dinner and certainly they also need sanitary facilities but for some reason the garbage is not really put away the containers that exist there are completely overcrowded and youve seen the images of the of the senate terry conditions of the of the toilets in there where they didnt even have Running Water for that reason they brought their own Water Bottles you know to wash their hands and so on and so forth so i seen really terrible hygiene conditions worse then than ive ever seen them in any refugee camp before and whats particularly interesting is that this is an officially run camp were not talking about a makeshift camp weve seen all these muddy sites there at the greek methadone eone border one or two years ago and thats understandable that the conditions there are bad but this is an officially run camp as you said its amazing that disease hasnt spread more widespread than it has already you also show. In your report that there is a lot of potential for conflict with the local community theyre struggling as well thats right yeah weve just met stimulus cofield us in that report a person who was you know cultivating all of trees there and he was actually owning the parcel right next to all the lands right next to the refugee camp where people would come because they dont have electricity because they dont have heating see installed in every of the containers they live in so they try to you know steal all of the trees burn them use them for for doing a camp fire and so on and so forth and in addition to that he was also a shepherd and he told us that forty of his sheep were killed in recent weeks and even found what he things is is proof for that being carried out by refugees a backpack of the u. N. H. C. R. And a knife and theyre grilling him barbecuing this these sheep theyre on his all of groves so a lot of frustration there understandably but at the same time you have to see that we followed our protagonist for dinner and he only gets you know a slice of bread and a small piece of cheese so they go to bed hungry theyre even fights over food in that camp and understandably again that they tried to solve the problem somehow and some even stealing his sheep as a result of that dire conditions as youre saying and you mentioned that you were on the greek Macedonian Border two years ago it seems not much has changed well it has changed for north and europe of course because all we what we can see there on the greek islands is a result of the e. U. Turkey deal that means that migrants coming to the islands of greece are contained there and they can only move forward once their request for asylum is being processed as a result of that here north and europe the numbers of migrants have reduced significantly but at the same time at least this is how they help the people there feel their islands are sacrifies in less because we have every tenth inhabitant of that island being a migrant now and the local community is really struggling and the migrants as well. With that exclusive report there from last post thank you all of a very much. Now a turkish german journalist facing trial in istanbul has been released on bail along with five other defendants the courts move came in response to a prosecution request for michelle and told her to be freed she was accused of being a member of an Armed Terrorist Organization and of spreading terrorist propaganda she was working as a reporter and translator for a left wing Turkish News Agency when she was arrested at the end of april told us three year old son lived with his mother in prison for several months. And yulia han is standing by for us in front of the prison where shallow tolu has been held for the last eight months what has been happening there. Well sumi where just right in front of the prison where Michelle Otoole is right now she is packing together her belongings as far as we know and signing the release papers to she might come out of this door behind me within the next hour thats what we hear here we talked to her father who used to come and visit her here in prison and he told us that he is today the happiest man in the world and he will be even more happy when he can finally hug his daughter again we also talked to one of her lawyers and they said that the decision they expect a decision like this because the court basically had no evidence to keep michelle a little behind bars any time longer but of course she was only released pending trial that means theyre all conditions she cant leave turkey and she has to report to the sorties regularly and she was released on bail yulia what does this mean for the other german prisoners. Well thats up to speculation of course but many observers here say this is a sign of hope for the other prisoners german citizens especially who are behind bars here allegedly for political reasons one of them of course being german turkish journalist danny as you just he is in prison now since more than three hundred days and german officials who are also here to observe whats going on also told us that they are hopeful but of course theyre also cautious in being very specific about this the fact that russia is being were being released on bail julia this is come out of point in german turkish relations does this show a sign that the tide is possibly turning. Well that might be a sign and many of us many of us german journalists certainly hope so that this is a sign for tensions to ease now but of course you cant be really certain of that we had the german human rights activists. Being released we have mashallah tolo being released pending trial now so there is hope that this is also due to better relations between germany and turkey. For us in istanbul a thank you for that update. Now to some other stories making headlines around the world and overnight blaze has killed twelve people in mumbai india they were employees at a snack shop and became trapped inside when the fire broke out officials are investigating the cause of the fire which gutted the entire store. The belgian trial of a key suspect in the two thousand and fifteen attacks in france has been postponed the delay is to give his newly appointed lawyer time to prepare salads islam is currently in a french president more of the legit involvement in multiple attacks that killed one hundred thirty people in paris. In south africa counting is underway after thousands of delegates from the Ruling African National congress voted for a new party leader to succeed president jacob zuma the winner is also likely to become to become south africas next president it is a hotly contested race with the countrys Deputy President facing off against sue must exwife. Officials in the u. S. A power has been restored at atlantas airport the worlds busiest this comes more than ten hours after a blackout led to thousands of flights being canceled the outage was caused by a fire in an underground electrical facility. The new government has been sworn into power in austria making it the only western european country with a far right ruling party in its coalition thats because the new chancellor sebastian course has teamed up with the populist Freedom Party together they are pledging to tighten immigration policies while maintaining a strong commitment to the e. U. But the inclusion of the Freedom Party in the government has sparked protests as thousands gather in vienna. Holzman has been following the story from brussels for us hi max what does this mean for europe. Well it means a for the European Union that theres a mixed message coming from austria theres potentially some good news in there for example there seems to be a clear commitment by the new coalition to the European Union saying for example in their program that a strong austria can only exist in a strong europe and that involves a party of the Freedom Party that only a couple of years ago played with the idea of exiting the European Union altogether but on the other hand difficult message also because this will most likely deepen the rift that we already have between Eastern Europe and western europe on the topic of migration relocation that countries like germany italy greece are in favor of a quota meaning that every country in the European Union would have to take in migrants according to certain quota not countries like hungary in poland are strictly against that and now with this new coalition in austria they most likely will be on the side of hungary and poland because their program in the case that they will toughen up generally speaking on Immigration Rights a mixed messages there from austria max keep it right there will be coming back in just a moment but as we heard the Coalition Government backs a tougher immigration policies and that you have already been working together to put this into practice newcomers in the country are already feeling the effects lets take a look. Welcome to austria a region ruled for the past two years by the far right Freedom Party and the conservative party. Who is iranian has applied for asylum here her first application was turned down and shes now waiting for the outcome of an appeal. The uncertainty is troubling her. Its sometimes difficult. Because you think so like to make plans. Do something important and work and be in a relationship. But you always have these Things Holding you back. Is receiving some support from a local Organization Called do wont do it helps Asylum Seekers like her find their feet sometimes through joint activities such as visiting Christmas Markets. Its remarkable that she had the courage to come here on her own and try to lead a totally normal life. Much as currently training to be a geriatric nurse. She wants to start afresh in austria. Im well educated ive studied and ive persevered with that too and id really like to do something for austria because austria is somehow my home now i am at these despite being well educated its not clear whether my will be allowed to stay the two parties governing Upper Austria are now in charge of the whole country both oppose immigration thats a local far right mayor makes clear what is in the midst of the Freedom Party will be in charge of the interior ministry as well as integration will satiny prioritise things that have already been negotiated and that will lead to a restrictive integration on the cylon policy which is a good thing. In Upper Austria the right wing Freedom Party has reduced benefits for Asylum Seekers and increased Video Surveillance social organisations worried that such policies will not be adopted throughout australia. Or noticing in Upper Austria that the social climate is becoming colder i say this is especially at christmas time we need to take care of that we dont rob people of their dreams and opportunities dreams and opportunities depend on having a secure job secure childcare secure accommodation and they depend on affordability. Matias hopes for a new start in austria are as alive as ever but their chances of achieving them seem to be fading high lets bring the facts health in brussels and next in austria doubling down on immigration what will the e. U. Do in response you have to make a clear difference here between National Measures that inline with austrian laws during constitution and with the bill will of the voters even if some people dont like it this prayer only is the will of the voters because this Coalition Won a comfortable majority and there and acting the program that they campaigned on and so thats one part of it and the other part of it of course are e. U. Regulations e. U. Official decisions and thats and that come back to the migration quota again because this was an official Council Decision and it was backed up by the highest e. U. Court the European Court of justice and now ignoring what the European Court of justice and what the council said that the different Member States have to do as hungary in poland are doing and maybe austria will do as well thats a whole different ball game its a huge problem for the European Union and it is the reason why this is the most contentious issue in the European Union now leaders only last week agreed that they will try to figure this issue out next year until june two thousand and eighteen if they make it it will have to be some kind of compromise although the outlines of that compromise are not there reclear yet meanwhile max leaders tomorrow donald tusk are set to meet with australia new chancellor very briefly if you can what is that on the agenda probably more symbol than substance apparently quotes whos well known here for miss time as the foreign minister of austria just wants to make it clear that hes very serious about his commitment to the European Union in spite of the difficulties about migration that are looming. Health month for us in brussels thank you max. Ok not to want to swedens biggest exports ikea ben they have made a lot of money off people like you need building their furniture a huge amount of money and we pay our taxes today pay the taxes i dont know a very good question and this is what brussels is trying to find out the European Union has launched an investigation into ikeas tax arrangements in the netherlands e. U. Investigators want to find out if two deals between the furniture giant and dutch authorities give the swedish firm and the Legal Advantage over of the companys ikea is the latest company to come under e. U. Scrutiny for taxi regularities so far the focus has mainly been on u. S. Multinationals like apple and starbucks. And lets go over to monsters our reporter whos been following this story from brussels for us. Whats ikea being getting away with what sort of tax rate if they actually been paying. Well we dont have any numbers as yet ban but what we have is a case of the European Commission against of another law and so who are under suspicion of giving ikea unfair market advantage now the scheme that were looking at that the scheme that apparently the commission has unveiled here scuse me is that the ikea which is a swedish founded but its headquarters are located in the netherlands has been allowed in two thousand with a two thousand and six tax ruling to pay an annual license fee of three equivalent to three percent of its turnovers in the netherlands into a tax holding in luxemburg where then the money was not taxed so basically they could shift that money away paying zero taxes on these three percent of revenue and now in two thousand and eleven the European Commission decided that that tax scheme in luxembourg was illegal and that is when further creativity i would say kicked in and that is when ikea decided to set up an intercompany in lichtenstein which gave a loan to ikea and these Interest Rates then offset revenues that were made now both cases are currently investigated now from now on by the European Commission a case of the netherlands is involved in liston stein luxembourg and it sounds like an extremely complicated plan whoever is come up with is a. I mean only a criminal could come up with something that is by the sounds of it. It is when you look at it from the distance looks like one of those complex Assembly Instructions for an ikea cupboard even it really has started amid a wave of revelations under the Paradise Papers or the lux leaks weve seen so. An attempt by the European Commission to crack down on the creativity how a big multinationals are trying to avoid taxes and it is not the companies that the European Commission investigates but it is the countries that allow these Big Companies to come up with such Creative Concepts and we have seen a number of cases here weve seen apple that has to ask that and now has to pay island thirteen billion euros we have luxembourg that is about to receive from amazon a two hundred fifty millions so its big money involved here. Im a big fan of those i can plans on how to pillage wardrobe you can spend hours and hours poring over them but just tell me briefly briefly is the e. U. And by the sounds of it from those figures and all those companies youre mentioning and countries involved it sounds like the e. U. Is making headway in its crackdown on tax havens they are made making quite a headway if you look at the Big Companies and its the green party in the European Parliament that kick started this investigations and they have said between two thousand and nine and two thousand and fourteen were looking at least at one billion euros in tax avoidance that has not been paid to that particular member state and that money should now come again if indeed the allegations are true ok. Creative case for us from brussels thank you. So the case caleb was talking about there is brussels most ambitious against the European Multinational and follows a similar case against u. S. Heavyweight amazon its in hot water again by the way and could face a ten million euro fine Frances Finance Ministry is suing the retail giant for abusing its market dominant position on its own platform the Ministry Says there is a significant imbalance in business relations between amazon and vendors selling products on its Third Party Vendor platform the case follows a two year investigation into such platforms that will be heard by the Paris Commercial Court amazon has the power to modify contracts at a moments notice demand shorter delivery times or block deliveries altogether while demanding additional Corporate Information from vendors. Here in germany amazon wants to roll out its brick and Mortar Stores like in the u. S. Its said to be part of an International Strategy so far the company hasnt issued a timeline. The corporate graveyard includes more than a few brick and mortar businesses slain by amazon most recently toys r us which declared bankruptcy this year yet while traditional businesses have struggled to match amazons Online Presence customers havent given up on physical stores far from it in fact close to ninety percent of all Retail Shopping worldwide is done in person a figure that also applies to the u. S. Economist represents about twelve percent of sales nationwide but theres evidence that its kind of hitting a plateau with the amount of sales itll produce shopping in person is even more common in europe where cash is still king and online buying not quite as widespread amazon may hope a physical presence can help when those store go in customers experts say its american bookstores allow the company to show a personal face and showcase its own products while learning lessons about customer Shopping Habits that could help online. Theres some irony in amazon selling books off the shelf as it was selling books online that first put it on the map and helped put some brick and mortar bookstores out of business but the retail giant can afford to experiment its Online Empire after all is only expanding. Welcome back youre watching news our top stories the world is marking International Migrants day this as an estimated sixty six Million People worldwide have been forced to leave their homes and a Turkish Court has ordered the release of a turkish german journalist imprisoned in istanbul but she must remain in the country michel the total is charged with terror offenses. Now indian Prime Minister Narendra Modis hindu nationalist b j p party appears to offended off a major challenge by holding on to power in his home state of gujarat a loss in his home state would have been a huge embarrassment for modi and the b j p which has ruled the western indian state for two decades but this was the first real test for raul gandhi the new president of the Opposition Congress party and heir to one of indias most well known political families. Lets bring in a holter hes on stand by for us in delhi high office good to see you how surprising are these results. Both to me they are surprising in the sense that the vase ended up a lot tighter than people expected the b j p party as you mention has been a long standing ruling party in the state of good drought this is now its six consecutive election when in that state it is a bastion of the party there in the movie the Prime Minister is from from that state he ruled it as chief minister for thirteen years before he became Prime Minister so a big surprise in the sense that the b. G. P. Is share of seats in the good Drop Assembly is now going to come down from about one hundred fifteen to about one hundred so theyve lost about fifteen seats and the congress as great has gained about that amount but at the same time you know its still a win for the b j p and they now have hold of nineteen of indias twenty nine states yes yes this was a Hard Fought Campaign to win the what role did the Prime Minister play. But it was quite unusual really for a Prime Minister to be so involved in a state campaign but Prime Minister modi has been unusual in many ways as a Prime Minister in india and its not the first state campaign that hes gotten involved in but definitely the most involved hes gotten in the sense that as i mentioned its his home state hes ruled it before as chief minister and so in the space of fifteen days in the in the last couple of weeks before the Election Results today the attended thirty four valleys in good drought where he was really appealing to the people you know as a son of the soil and really hoping that they would not let him down in the sense that he kind of cost them self as being under attack under siege from many different factions across the country he really appealed to his brothers and sisters in good drop to stand by him so what does this result in good right then mean for the b j p but also the opposition on the national level. Well it depends on who you talk to you know the result thats come out today is kind of a draw in some ways and so both both parties are able to spin it in a way thats favorable to them so if you talk to the b j p they say look weve won the sixth time in a row here we have nineteen states out of twenty nine were continuing to win elections they picked up another state who model pradesh today but if you talk to the Congress Party you know they say you know weve put up a huge challenge to the b j p in their best in and they sort of see this as a launching pad moving forward to the two thousand and nineteen elections and theres going to be eight more state elections coming up in two thousand and eighteen before that. Reporting for us from delhi thank you. Now it was the first major islamist terror attack in germany one year ago tomorrow twelve people were killed and seventy hurt when omri a Tunisian National whose asylum application had been rejected hijacked a truck and plowed into a Christmas Market in one of britains busiest public spaces among the dead victims from the Czech Republic ukraine poland italy and israel seven germans were killed the injured included citizens from fifty five different nations chancellor merkel is due to meet victims relatives today and a memorial will be unveiled at the site of the attack tomorrow but many survivors and relatives of those killed feel German Authorities especially the chancellor have failed them in a moment well speak to a victims representative but first a closer look at the fate of the first person killed in the berlin attack a polish truck driver look at or about. Yes takes candles to the grave of her son luke the first victim of the attack on the Christmas Market the walk to the cemetery in the polish town of has become a regular regional for her and her husband. Campbell almost every other day we have to tidy up here because so many people come from all over poland even all of europe we have to take good care of the grave and visitors from both germany and poland come to lay flowers the cemeteries only a fifteen minute drive from the polish german border. Parents few. They expected more support and compassion from germany they have yet to receive a letter of condolence from chancellor and young enough speed on camera to many tears she says the attack in berlin set of the usually tranquil region of western poland many locals are further dismayed by the way the German Government reacted afterwords. It was only in march this year three months after the attack that a commission of the relatives of the victims was appointed. I think none of us was really prepared to say that what happened in france could happen here. As a result we made an error in judgment. It wasnt enough for the president of germany to speak with the victims relatives. It should have been the chancellor thats regarded as a major shortcoming on the part of the government. Because mungo informed involvement. Expensive truck for one thing. I had to replace the tractor trailer at least. Then there were three weeks of inactivity and all the lost income relating to that. And of course multiple trips to berlin. Received ten thousand euros compensation from the German Foreign ministry the same a c. Of the victims relatives the special commission. Hes done Everything Possible to help. Recover but a year after the attack the pain of loss is still very present for the family. With us in studio now as hes the berlin state commissioner for victims of Violent Crimes today for thank you very much for joining us and. Do you think that the relatives of this Christmas Market attack have been treated well by the German Government. Depends on the first few days they have off its this big lack of information. And also the relatives told me they had to figure out for their own where they can find the real help and so this is going on till today so some people still not only said they are real. Lee angry about this why is it going on till today why has it taken so long. I cant explain it very exactly because if you see we did a lot in january was me who was the first of their tried to get help and then there was mr back and his stuff but i can see if comes into the whole year if somethings going wrong in the first few days or weeks its very difficult to solve it later were you not getting enough support from the government we saw that the the victims relatives wrote an open letter to the chancellor do you agree with the concerns that they raise their i can understand this very well this letter this is their opinion why they are still sad and angry but i talked to most of and here at davis some people told me they. Still said they see that the German Government is trying to improve the situation you know also made a lot here in the state of berlin we are building up new authority how to make it better the next time and so some still angry as i said they want to change more and they want to hear it especially from the chancellor that they are do so by bus or relatives but what about the city itself because you are responsible for the city of berlin there were reports in german media of hospital officials of Police Officials fully on equipped to deal with grieving families victims families this post the situation in the first few days also have to mit it was new for me we had no experience for the situation over there was no dealing how to handle this and so all for all of us it was such a brand new situations where it was so difficult but we learned a lot think we can do it better it might be too late to be said any sort of help for the victims families right now were still green. But what can be done differently what do you think specifically needs to change in the future in the future i think we have to change two points first of all the main points are we have to reconstruct the whole structure of you have to improve our laws we have to build these special offices in the so federal states and then we need more financial compensation financial compensation is a crucial aspect what about the act of remembering and commemorating we saw that poland for example had a funeral for lucas urban who we saw in that report where the polish president attended how important are acts like this also here in germany just as the this is. To hold him gluten liam from some polls and so i think we should do it better. If we did the situation. Right roland but the berlin state commissioner for the victims of Violent Crime thank you very much for joining us an interview and for an even more indepth look at the story there is a documentary coming up later today on t w the attack how terrorism came to berlin check out dot com for the broadcast time in your area. Moving on to some other stories now and to tanzania or allegations of collusion between elephant poachers and antipoaching rangers have emerged d. W. Has received information that indicates the presence of rangers that increased the number of elephants killed in certain areas now data shows that in two thousand and fourteen almost Twelve Thousand elephants were killed in and around rwanda part that is tanzanias Largest National park a whistleblower has told us that rangers a past that munition to the poachers and warned them of patrols our correspondent lucy taylor sent us this report from tanzania and a warning for our viewers it contains some images that you might find disturbing. The brutal signature of the illegal ivory trade maybe hidden from safari tourists these pictures could have been taken tens of thousands of times over. Twelve thousand elephants in twenty. It was the worlds worst massacre. We now have new evidence that some of the very government rangers who were paid to prevent it were possibly killing. New scientific analysis of Aerial Survey shows clusters of carcasses close to three ranger posts the unpublished paper shows elephants dying within five hundred meters of them casting suspicion on some of the ranges themselves see the hot spots around two or three of the rangers placed and its hard to explain the. Except in relation to the range that somehow the rangers are probably complicit in poaching we estimate that around about five percent of rangers may have some connection with pictures that are able to inform them about the activities of the patrols. Weve spent the last year speaking to those who were there at the height of the crisis one ranger fearing for his safety told me he knew some of his colleagues were helping poaches they give them bronze for example the portal has a gun but he has no ammunition so he gets it from the ranger he says he saw phone messages between rangers and coaches knew of rangers warning poaches of patrols its a lot many of them do it is at its worst thirty elephants a day being slow says here was the ivory trade at his most deadly one of africas biggest elephant populations cut down to a third of its size our evidence suggests that those who were supposed to be protecting them may have been involved in the killing and all the while this area was receiving millions of dollars of international aid. Documents show that the United Nations Development Project helped to train and equip the ranges funded partly by foreign aid the project was held in such high regard that the organizations global administrators came to visit. Working with impunity in twenty fourteen even Tourism Companies raised the alarm. After hearing gunshots and finding bullet cases scattered on the ground we were devastated. Because this had been happening on our doorstep. Renowned for its. Population. What happened in the world is part of a global scramble for tusks fueled by the ivory markets in asia and threatening elephants very soon. Across africa many millions of dollars of aid to spend. Its not about whether the money has been spent. So. But its impact has. Packed millions of pounds. In the first place. They say that elephants never gets to be killing continues elephants themselves may become nothing more than a memory. To football now and leverkusen poor start to the bonus League Season is a distant memory they travel to hanover on the back of a twelve game unbeaten streak that had put them among the leading pack in stark contrast to their hosts hanover had only managed one win in their last six games but this one turned out to be a classic. I never spans were hoping for a Christmas Present but gold getter much in heinecke was out with a stomach bug laverick was in for their part missing their top scorer kevin fall and the visitors still came out swinging blood as ben did to you liam browns one nil but their celebrations had hardly calmed down when hanover answered uli incog teamed up in hospital for the equaliser. Then felix klaus got brought down in the box and after consulting the video replay the referee awarded a questionable penalty because food frode converting the kick to give hanover a two one lead. But only briefly in the twenty fifth minute ive never met maybe made it to all in this action packed affair and just before the half time interval it was klaus who hit the target to put hanover in front once again im three to five the first time this season the house of scored three and a half. At the restart later because im brought on leon bailey and it took the jamaican just two minutes to pull the sides level again. By what a display of speed from one of the foreign players in the bundesliga and he was at it again twenty minutes later bagging a brace to make it four three by four away goals wouldnt be enough for a laver couzin when i was in the dying minutes colin brown did out the for all scoreline in this prechristian extravaganza. Were in need of three points if they were to avoid slipping further away from leaders spying munich after three losses in a row theyve given up second spot in the table head on the other half are feeling confident after their midweek win against hanover. Davey celcom left light sick after making just two stunts last season today he was in the first eleven for the six game running. And it took him just six minutes to punish his former employer the young german has now schooled in half of his appearances for him. That is the on the thinkable sound upwell Swedish Pop Group the bestselling band from Continental Europe even though they broke up in one thousand nine hundred two they are still selling records by the truckload to this day a new exhibition is just opened in london we have a cure and hope that helps that from our culture just to talk to us about this makes me get up and dance here and youre going to tell the readers a little bit when the pictures here are your words or did you have a hard time choosing the music there you know i could have had a really tough time but i had to settle for super trouper because thats the name of the exhibition super troopers with an ass on this exhibition is the cooperation between the Auburn Museum in stockholm and the Southbank Center in london so what is special about this exhibition its very special to me because you could call it kind of an immersion it takes you back to the one nine hundred seventy s. And through a number of different periods of the bands history but in a very special way as a lot of artifacts to be seen and the time travel aspect is really intensified by the fact that the exhibition really tries to eliminate nine hundred seventy s. Britain so the very much the social and political context of the time and this incredibly upbeat shiny music from scandinavia you know came surging in. With that background so lets have a look at what what the succession actually looks like. But typically drab nine hundred seventy s. British living room it was a time of endless strikes and high unemployment part of the backdrop that saw abah catapult to find a slice of glitter in the globe. This is getting close to what it was like this is not one of the last few technically advanced exhibitions this is. A warm. Super trip it is a guided exhibition in small groups of visitors pass through nine immersive routes that explore important moments of the bands history including polish studios in stockholm with the big booted superstars made many of their indisputable hits and the Brighton Grand Hotel room where the stage during the famed one nine hundred seventy four year edition song contest the win would see apple go on to become one of the most successful bands of all time the fishing leave the nearest subway station for the super trouper exhibition is waterloo in london it was always london. And the u. K. Too to have a number one in this country was all of us our biggest dream super trouper not only celebrates the life and music but also the political and social context of their rise i. Feel. It. Was. How do you explain staying power theres a band that broke up at thirty five years ago absolutely thats a really interesting question you know because its not as if the critics were completely enamored with them across the board but but they critics often panned initially as sort of kitschy you know very cheery am radio kind of phares of the easy listening but i think its actually that cheeriness that definitely struck a note with the fans i mean it has to be said that Benny Andersson and those who we can see here in the back here are the the to be they were the writers they are absolutely the masters of the ear werman they you know had this absolute knack for these upbeat optimistic kind of anthems and even their sadder songs were actually arranged to sound ecstatic you know musically musically theres a lot going on there things are a lot more complex than they may seem actually because even the women had Classical Music training they had an incredible range but very different to sort of typical pop music at the time so their stuff is tough to saying and the exhibition is interesting because it also has the studio room where people can give their own rendition of Dancing Queen and anybody whos ever tried that a karaoke knows that its not so easy but this music also as many people know spawned the hit musical mama mia which built a story all around their hit singles not the two thousand and eight movie version here was just an incredible romp. Again critics look at the thumbs down but the public loved it so heres meryl streep in one of her most physical roles and you know other big names like hers brosnan helen furr. Amanda seyfried were in the. News actually also i should tell you a sequel coming out next summer mamma mia here we go again and it will feature most of the original cast but it is still a lot of mileage to be had from all of these of us songs because you can imagine not all of them were used in that first in that first musical we also had great debates in the office today as to what our favorite songs are which one might make us feel good whats yours. I would say mama mia because i did really enjoy that movie exactly exactly and it made me even brought the song start to in a different way its very funny because we were looking at a lot of the videos today and one of mine back in the day was always chiquita which has this absolutely schmaltzy wonderful picture video maybe we can finish it this is really good for you have a conviction against very christmassy you. Know manufacturing there all right well this exhibition is going on in london cared about more nobody saw until april next year book tickets in advance on the internet on the internet or on the website all right thats all we have time for are you watching t w will leave you with this pictures and this music thank you.
