The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the local government units (LGUs) have so far provided relief assistance amounting to more than P1.72 million to the families affected by Typhoon “Bising” in the country’s four regions.
The DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) reported that as of 6 p.m., April 23, the relief response aid disbursed to the affected families totals P1,723,751.20.
The DROMIC noted the increasing number of families affected by Bising in Cagayan Valley, Bicol, Eastern Visayas and Caraga.
Based on its report, Bising had affected 85,570 families or 344,958 persons in 1,099 barangays.
