A Timmins man faces multiple charges including drug and weapons offenses following an incident at Sharidan Trailer Park Thursday that saw an OPP specialized unit called in to dispose of a homemade explosive device.
The Timmins Police Service – Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at a Tony Street address and determined that a local man was in unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, other weapons, and quantities of controlled substances.

In the course of executing the search warrant, a “suspicious device was located within the residence which triggered a containment situation to occur until the item could be rendered harmless,” according to a release issued by the Timmins Police Service.
