A man who admitted last year to leaving the scene of a crash that left a 25-year-old motorcyclist dead in South Brunswick was sentenced to eleven years in prison, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and South Brunswick Police announced Tuesday in a joint statement.
Peter Prete, 59, of Jamesburg, pleaded guilty on Jan. 31, 2020 to second-degree knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash resulting in death and one count of third-degree hindering his own apprehension, the office said. Once he is released from prison, Prete faces a one-year loss of his driver’s license for having left the scene of the crash.
