SANDY — The driver of a truck escaped major injury after her vehicle hauling PVC glue caught on fire on I-15 southbound in Salt Lake County early Sunday morning, authorities said.
Three lanes were closed so crews could clean up the scene, but all lanes were open by Sunday evening.
Emergency crews first responded to a report of a trailer on fire at southbound I-15 near 9100 South shortly before 3:45 a.m., according to Utah Highway Patrol trooper Tara Wahlberg. She said a woman driving the semitruck pulled over after noticing mechanical issues.
After she stopped, she found that the vehicle's axles were on fire.
