TGMC and Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government will be providing 400 doses of the coronavirus vaccine Wednesday at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center.
The vaccine will be available in a drive-through format for those who qualify in Phase 1B, including those 70 and older, according to a joint news release from TGMC President and CEO Phyllis Peoples and Terrebonne Parish President Gordon Dove.
“The Parish and Terrebonne General Medical Center are proud to be working together to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to the people in our community safely and conveniently," the release read. "The combination of having both the vaccines and a larger distribution site was very important to both entities. The accessibility of the drive-through at the Civic Center and the expertise of the hospital 'Vaccine Team' creates a perfect solution to providing our community a convenient location with easy access and expert care. Our goal is to provide the vaccine for as many people in our community who want to receive it.”
