Drilon: 'Reasonable, unoppressive' law needed to restrict unvaccinated people's movements

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon on Friday threw his support behind calls to craft a law punishing and restricting unvaccinated individuals, but stressed that such measure should be “reasonable and not oppressive.”
“We need a law to punish those unvaccinated from going out. It is also correct that those unvaccinated should stay home. If they go out, the process of escorting them back to their homes is a reasonable exercise of police power to protect public health. Kailangan ito gawin para masugpo ang pagkalat ng Delta variant ng COVID-19 (We need to do this to curb the transmission of Delta variant of COVID-19),” Drilon said in a text message to reporters Thursday night.
