Does India need a Uniform Civil Code?

The BJP-led governments in Gujarat, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh states have already gone public with their intent to introduce state-specific UCCs. In fact, Gujarat last year announced the formation of a committee to implement a UCC.
