Dodgers acquire OF Billy McKinney from Mets

The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired outfielder Billy McKinney from the New York Mets on Wednesday for minor league outfielder Carlos Rincon and cash.
The 26-year-old McKinney was designated for assignment by the Mets on Friday. He batted .220 with five homers and 14 RBIs in 39 games with the Mets.
McKinney began the season with the Milwaukee Brewers before being dealt to New York in late May. Overall, he is batting .213 with eight homers and 20 RBIs in 79 big-league games this season.
The Dodgers designated right-hander Jake Reed for assignment to open up a 40-man roster spot for McKinney. The 28-year-old Reed had a 3.38 ERA in six appearances (one start) for Los Angeles.
