Ludhiana: With farmers protesting at the Delhi borders for the last 50 days in this harsh winter, they are facing several health problems and as a result many have unfortunately lost their lives.
Dr Arun Mitra, former senior vice-president, IMA Punjab, has written a letter to Dr J A Jayalal, national president of Indian Medical Association (IMA), New Delhi. He said, “Under these circumstances they need regular medical care. Whereas the government’'s support is negligible, several NGOs and doctor groups are coming forward to provide medical aid.”
Other doctors have also appealed to the national president IMA to direct its units in different states particularly in and around Delhi to be proactive in providing medical aid to the farmers.
