Alex Kingston has written a 'Doctor Who' novel based on her character River Song.
The 57-year-old actress – who played the companion and eventual wife of The Doctor in the iconic BBC sci-fi series from 2008 to 2015 – has penned 'The Ruby's Curse', which will see her alter ego join forces with her own literary creation Melody Malone.
Set in New York in 1939, private eye Melody is hired to find a stolen ruby called the Eye of Horus, which could hold the secret to finding Cleopatra's tomb – although everyone who comes into contact with it dies.
In the same year and location, River – who wrote the 'Melody Malone Mysteries' – is forced to find the same jewel, which is a reality-altering weapon.
