It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and perhaps it’s never been more important to express our support for professional educators who have worked mightily to help students in a year when everyone’s world went topsy-turvy.
There is no doubt that the pandemic and the abrupt end to in-person instruction last spring has taken a substantial toll on students, and the slow return to classrooms this year hasn’t been an easy adjustment. But that is also true for teachers. Overnight, everything about how they do their jobs changed. What did not change was their commitment to help children learn, and thrive, even in the most challenging of environments.
