District West facing water shortage

Complaints of persisting water scarcity in various neighborhoods of District West are mainly due to the shortage of support from the Hub Dam source.
According to Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, 50 to 65 gallons per day (MGD) of water was being supplied to the areas instead of 100 MGD because of the shortage from Hub Dam.
Residents of the areas said that the water supply runs for only three hours in 24 hours for residential localities but the water hydrants get water 24 hours a day with the connivance of the water board staff and District West administration.
