District Court holds panel of former federal defendants

Four former federal defendants appeared before Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood and nearly 50 others at the District Court of Guam via Zoom to talk about their experiences serving their prison sentences and their road to recovery.
The District Court's Drug Offender Re-Entry Program, or Programan Hinalom Talo Team, hosted an outreach event with a panel of former federal defendants called "Looking Through My Door" in celebration of 2021 Drug Court Month.
Former defendants included Jesse Mendiola, Duane Calvo, Daniel "Ding" Mesa and Honofre Chargualaf, all of whom were convicted of federal crimes that involved drugs and guns. They shared their stories with current participants of the program and members of the public.
