MEDIAPOLIS — The residents of 312 North St. in Mediapolis don't throw late-night parties. They keep their yard neat and trimmed, volunteer in their community, contribute to their local economy and offer help to their neighbors.
The city of Mediapolis, however, has cited a city zoning ordinance in an attempt to force them from their home.
The home — whose residents receive Medicaid-reimbursed home- and community-based services for developmental disabilities and mental illness by licensed and certified care providers through Mediapolis Care Facility, an adult residential care facility that provides room, board, care and supervision for persons with mental illness and developmental disabilities — is located in a low-density residential zone.
