Devizes MP trans tweet branded 'unacceptable'
The MP for Devizes has faced backlash after he tweeted his support of Labour MP Rosie Duffield.
Ms Duffield, MP for Canterbury, sparked anger after she liked a number of Twitter posts that campaigners say are offensive to the LGBTQ+ community.
She had liked a tweet by musician Kurtis Tripp which said trans people are “mostly heterosexuals cosplaying as the opposite sex”.
His tweet also said that trans people needed to “stop co-opting our language” and “stop colonising gay culture”.
The Times reports that Ms Duffield is being investigated following the incident.
Devizes MP Danny Kruger has made his position known, and tweeted "#IStandWithRosieDuffield".
