The Devil Wears Prada director reveals nobody in the fashion industry wanted to work on the movie because they were afraid of 'incurring the wrath' of Vogue boss Anna Wintour
Director David Frankel said they initially couldn't get any designers to appear in the 2006 film because they were all afraid of angering Wintour 
The movie  starring Meryl Streep as icy editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly was adapted from Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel of the same name 
The bestseller was a scathing roman à clef of Weisberger's experience as Wintour's assistant at Vogue, and fashion insiders were hesitant to get involved 
Costumer Patricia Field even had a hard time finding designers to borrow clothes from, though she managed to procure roughly 150 pieces
