Detroit Lakes City Council approves Essentia Health sponsorship; residents concerned with tree abatement notices

Members of the Detroit Lakes City Council approved a $125,000 sponsorship deal with Essentia Health at the Kent Freeman Arena and accepted $983,000 in federal American Rescue Plan Act funding during a regular meeting of the city council in council chambers on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021. Multiple residents also voiced their concerns to the members regarding the 2021 tree abatement notices, which were delivered via certified mail in mid-July.
