discussions about a new attorney general. >> what is going on here, matt? >> well, i mean, you won't go broke betting against republicans to grow a spine when it comes to oversight over the president. as lindsey graham has demonstrated. what happened to lindsey graham is an interesting question. however, i would caution against automatically assuming this is going to happen, that republicans are going to like it. the senate is not the house. the people usually carrying the water for the president are people like mark meadows, devin nunez. the firebrands in the house. it's not the senate. recall the reason we have a mueller investigation is because trump fired james comey. a lot of people, their immediate re, an, republicans on capitol hill and particularly in the senate, like, wait a second, you've gone too far. this is why jeff sessions recused himself in the first place. sessions is their colleague. they like the guy, even if they disagree with him. i think it would create a political firestorm. and a sense of unpredictability. so i'm not convinced trump is going to do this or that republicans would all lay down like lindsey graham.
