already this week, and that's steve bannon. where did opinion fall in the west wing as to whether or not his "60 minutes" appearance net/net was a good thing or bad thing for this president, this administration? >> so like all things in the west wing, opinion was very mixed. some people just sort of hated even the mere fact of it, want him to go away and think it's disingenuous to be criticizing the fake news and appear on the real news of "60 minutes." the only person whose opinion who really mattered is president trump's. on the whole, with very notable exceptions, the president liked it. thought bannon gave a forceful defense of him, not just of him and praise of him as well, but also of his policies and his agenda. so on the whole, he has a complicated relationship with steve bannon but watched this entire interview, watched it very closely and he was quite pleased. >> we're reminded of that phrase. an audience of one. our great thanks to our leadoff panel tonight.
