where this is headed politically, at least for the republicans. >> they're singing from the same sheet of music here. the administration has been focused on leaks for a long time and after yesterday comey, legally he's on firm ground as 0 private citizen leaking unclassified information. but politically by acknowledging that so openly, he did give republicans something to grasp on to. and you can see that's what they're hanging on to. as pete said earlier, the formal complaint filed today, i mean that is all about the optics and the headlines and furthering the perception that they want people to believe that comey did something in leaking to the press which is sort of standard within a democracy. the press needs leaks of information. it's not classified or anything illegal but they want the public -- >> it's for the public good. >> -- to believe that comey was up to something nefarious. >> one of the things that i found so striking yesterday is that if you're republican, there were plenty in comey's testimony to seize on to, to grasp on to as ammunition.
