time. wall street seeming to like if not what the president said, how the president said it. i want to bring in ali velshi at the new york stock exchange. break this down. how significant is this rally? did we expect to see this, and how long might it last? >> well, i was watching the market futures last night while the speech was going to. it definitely indicated that investors were appreciating the speech. i don't know whether they really liked it or didn't get any surprises they didn't like because from an economic perspective, the speech was short on the specifics that matter the most to investors. but take a look at what happened. the market opened about a percentage point higher. for reference, hallie, in a good average year over the last 50 or 75 years, the market goes up 6% or 7% in a given year. so to have 1% in a day is kind of remarkable. as you said, above 21,000. a milestone. the best day so far on the dow. up about 240 points now.
