constituents. it turns out their constituents this year are particularly eager to catch up. take congressman tom reed from new york, he usually gets a handful of people to show up at his town halls. usually. not anymore. tom reed held four town halls in a row this weekend in a deep red pocket of new york state that went for donald trump by 15 points. nevertheless, big crowds showed up to tell congressman reed they do not support the new president and they said so loudly. same thing happened today to congressman jim jordan from ohio. he held kind of a makeshift town hall outside an event where he really wasn't planning on talking to constituents. tension were running high even before he got there. it didn't get much better once he arrived and started talking. >> now -- now it's time to change it and bring back insurance that actually empowers you. [ crowd chanting "give us your insurance" ] >> "give us your insurance." when congress is home, there are 150 town hall and constituent events like this across the country. for a lot of people, d.c. is inaccessible. the phone lines have been jammed. people are getting a chance for the first time in a while to talk to representatives face to face.
