donation is something we think should be legal or shouldn't be legal. if we're going to debate it, we'll debate it on those terms. instead, they felt their jobs would be put at risk if they didn't confront this head-on or it will would be worth it to fold that sector of their electorate back in. they didn't stop it. if they were willing to negotiate a full budget with democrats where they could horse trade at the margins over issues that include funding for women's health care. they might be even able to provide a minor victory for anti-abortion causes. instead what they're doing is demanding everything and saying we're going to fund the government at current levels and we want to do it with a rider that says no more funding for planned parenthood and that can't pass. if that's the only thing they're willing to offer, the only way this ends is with a government shutdown.
