equality, but has meant that there have been moments when interracial political movements could emerge in part because people are intimate with one another, because they know one another. so we've seen at various moments, most strikingly, of course, immediately after the civil war, during a period when there was this opportunity for reconstruction. when basically the non land holders, the laboring poor white agricultural workers in the u.s. south saw their interests as potentially connected to that of the newly freed formerly enslaved african-americans. and in those moments what we see is what i suspect will happen here which is to say that there are strategic partnerships, but we probably should not expect enduring long-term coalitional change. >> i saw that, right? one of the people we spoke to, that methodist minister, he also said i'm conservative, like i don't like obamacare, i don't think we should have medicaid expansion. i'm telling you, i like doe this hospital, we should keep this hospital. reverend barber talks about a
