take to be successful at this level? >> the politico headline she's the real deal. the iowa poll showing she's virtually tied with mitt romney, but the question is i suppose even if she wins iowa, does she become the mike huckabee of 2012? >> mike huckabee won iowa but didn't manage to build on that success with broader electorates elsewhere. we have different republican party this time though than we had four years ago. the energy -- the energized part of the republican party is the tea party movement. michele bachmann really speaks to those folks. iowa becomes a battle for who emerges as the standard bearer for the tea party, and at the moment with this very interesting "des moines register" poll, it's clear that michele bachmann is in a very good place to claim that mantle. then we'll see a showdown later on in other states, maybe in the florida primary, as to whether she could take on somebody like mitt romney. >> this poll i guess you could call it a trifecta because she outperformed of what people expected of her in the debate, first of all. she is a prolific fund-raiser.
