the year who got laid off. justin, good to see you. >> good morning. glad to be here. >> now, as i understand it, you got your job back after you wrote an op-ed, but not with your fifth grade class, right? >> right. i got a job back working with severely and emotionally-challenged children. >> you obviously were incredibly popular, i think we have some video of you actually with your fifth graders. and as i understand it, you were initially let go because of your lack of seniority. several states are taking a closer look at the teacher tenure system. some are pushing to have merit play a bigger role. what's your take on what happened to you? >> my take is, we have a flaw in the system. we have a system that bases your value solely on seniority. and i hear the arguments for merit pay and performance pay and i think there can be marias in that. when we base it on one thing, that's where we have issues. i would argue for a system that incorporates seniority, but your value is ultimately judges on how well your students are achieving. >> what's the reaction been
