of mexico oil spill say they are concerned after discovering huge plumes of oil in the water. the reported plumes are located just beneath the surface to more than 4,000 feet deep. meantime bp isn't giving up on its latest attempt to stop the raging oil leak on the gulf floor. they are trying to thread a tube with a rubber stopper into the busted pipe to siphon off a significant amount of that leak but the company hit a snag yesterday when they tried to connect two pieces of equipment a mile under water. they were forced to bring the framework back up to the surface to make some adjustments. joining me live now, oil and gas expert, bob, with another good morning to you, do we actually know how much oil is under the ocean here? i mean, i don't want to sound flip, but is there an ocean of oil under the ocean? >> there very likely is at this point. most people in the industry believe that the well is flowing at a much higher rate than the 5,000 barrels a day that bp is reported.
