this. a shot as a professional jockey in the death-defying, adrenaline-pumping sport of racing a thoroughbred up to 40 miles an hour. >> i just love horses. love riding. love going fast. >> reporter: here in lexington, kentucky where horses and hooves are plenty. this 22-year-old is a few strides away from graduation at the only jockey school in the u.s., north american racing academy. only 16% of licensed jockeys are female. right now the top 100. only two are women. one of the women is rosie napravnik, while often alone in the female locker room. tomorrow all eyes will be on her. she is riding her way into history. as the first woman ever to ride in all three triple crown races. >> no princesses, you know. you got to be one of the guys. >> reporter: 19-year-old jockey student, knows full well it is a cutthroat sport. >> when we first started riding, it was basically like the movie "hunger games."
