chad herbert, senior -- talk a little bit about the process. let's stay out of the weeds and get into politics. there are a couple tracks here. mitch mcconnell is trying to get this going but then there's a reality of the fbi investigation. >> reporter: the realities it might take up to a week to get this reporting which means they don't start to run the clocks in the senate until next friday or saturday. it takes four days to do this. mitch mcconnell would move to end debate on day one, day 2 would be the meeting day when they wait for the motion, day 3 you moved to vote to break the filibuster these 51 votes, and once you voted to break a filibuster, opponent of the nomination are given 30 hours. on day four day five you have a confirmation vote. mitch mcconnell can't do this until next wednesday at the earliest. that might drift into the weekend.
