they came in the name of peace but i saw a lot of obscene gestures, and heard a ton of words that we would have to bleep. s they were fired up but also not violent. then, there were the anarchists, easy to spot because many of them covered their faces with bandannas or ski masks. they wore helmets and came armed with whatever they could scrounge up. they seemed to want a fight with the trump supporters and the police who stood in the strong line in full riot gear between them and the trump rally. some of them belong to the portland chapter of antifa, short for antifascists, but really, these are many of the same people who caused property damage and spar with police every may day. some of the group started throwing bricks and bottles and that is when police finally went on the offensive. they deployed several flash bang grenades and pepper balls. they pushed the anarchists back and eventually corralled themd into an area. police confiscated dozens of weapons that you saw there, bricks, knives, that sort of thing. amazingly, no assault, no injuries, very little if any
