there say the man didn't even realize that he had been shot. and that's when the shooter moved on. now, when the shooter got to the second location the shooter was out of the vehicle. exactly how things transpired there, we don't know except for the reporting of the witness, whom we heard with jenna and jon a short time ago who suggested there were up to 100 shots fired and that it went on for some 20 minutes. as she describes it initially it was the one shooter and then multiple shooters. the reason for that is not to indicate there was a second shooter but that police and this -- and this suspect were in a shootout of some kind and at some point the shooter apparently got away to some nearby woods where later a reporter for the times free press, the local chattanooga newspaper, heard shots fired, two of them in the woods right off the second location. and that's when we believe that the shooter was taken down and the active shooting situation ended. we have an update on the officer who is in the hospital. it's our understanding from
