sergeant bergdahl. >> the pentagon points out that matthew was killed in september, more than two months after bergdahl disappeared and they question the connection. your reaction? >> they didn't find him. they still kept looking for him. that's what they were doing. i guess when it first happened, they said shut everything down, but the missions kept up, trying to look for him and rescue him. >> the military points out that five soldiers were killed in the three months after bergdahl disappeared and eight soldiers in that part of afghanistan were killed in the same three months the previous year. i don't think they are in any way trying to kmsh -- diminish the law of your son but they are pushing back on the idea that there's a link and somehow this is being blamed on bergdahl's desertion. >> i'll say two things about that.
