as you mentioned, i'm in the virginia state legislature, and virginia is number one for jobs because we made on a bipartisan basis jobs our number one focus. and when you have two million people who have lost their jobs during this administration and 14 million people out of work, both sides need to come together and focus on jobs, and that's the clear message d. megyn: but that's just talking points. with respect, barbara, that's just vanilla talking points. our viewers know that. what i'm asking you is, is this a trap by the president for republicans tonight to try to sort of tee up his election message going forward, or is it a trap by the republicans who are trying to say, well, come meet with us beforehand and that way we can say we've been cooperative when many on the other side would say they haven't? >> well, the ap reported today that the goal of the president was to kind of set up the republicans on this. and that shouldn't be anybody's goal. the goal should be jobs on both sides. i just think this kind of process and playing back and
