>> shepard: eric shawn live in new york tonight, eric, thanks. and speaking of new york, here we go again. folks in the northeast are now bracing for yet another present from mother nature. a nor'easter on the way, as two other major systems combine to form one massive snow storm. you are looking live. times square in new york city. it started snowing about 15 minutes before the program began. it's so light you can't see it that's going to change. the extreme weather already left parts of the deep south covered in snow and ice. officials blaming the weather for nearly a dozen deaths. and, this the scene at atlanta's heartsfield jackson airport. usually the busiest in the nation. airports canceling 2,000 flights in and out of the area. rick leventhal with the news life outside the plaza. it was snowing before our program. is it still? >> the first flakes are now starting to come down, shepard. we are not expecting that major blizzard we saw the day after christmas. but we are expecting a major winter storm with heavy winds
