nuclear showdown china takes on the world and the coming collapse of china. what about the timing of this. are you surprised? >> secretary gates was going to go to bay sing to clear off the military issues when the president of china aeu arrives for his january 19th summit with president obama. they don't want the things like taiwan and military relations to cloud the summit. they thought that secretary gates would be able to get them out of the way. jon: it also comes against the interesting back drops of those photos coming out being released and some think they were essentially leaked by the official chinese government of that new stealth fighter prototype that the chinese are testing. if they get such a weapon it seriously changes the balance of power in the pacific, doesn't it? >> it certainly does, because secretary gates stopped production of the f22 which is our stealth fighter. we are reflying on the f35 which is a less capable plane.
