want to thank my republican colleagues. if we learned anything from this last election it was that the american people want us to get things done. they asked us to come to washington, work hard on behalf of the american people, and work together. and i can tell you that senator enzy, senator sessions, senator coburn came to the table to help. they wanted to make the difference and make the deal better and came together at a great time of need and they made a difference so i thank them for making this possible today. and i am going to close with a reminder about what this is about: on 9/11 our country was attacked by terrorists. certain men and women, the strongest, the bravest among us, raced up the towers when everyone was coming down, and they were the ones who went to the pile to look for survivors
