there wasn't any religion in this at all. i'm sorry ... he was a skier, world class skier. he used to call sunday mornings and say let's go skiing. he'd never pros let sized and gave up his life for the afghanistan. >> how did he choose this as the major life change for him? how did he choose afghanistan and the afghan people? >> he loved the mountains. it was a fascinating place, it was an adventure. he had a -- he was very successful professionally and wanted to give something back to people. general. it had nothing to do with christianityty on proselytizing. >> did he speak of the dangerous inherent with that region? >> absolutely. i mean he was a back country skier. he took risks but he wasn't reckless. he knew the dangerous and knew he could die.
