storm by friday. our chief meteorologist with all the details on this. what do we know, rick? >> i'll tell you what, it's an interesting one. we've been pretty lucky across the gulf this year. we won't stay that way for long. this right here is where the storm is and it looked a little better honestly yesterday, shepard, thinking that pretty likely it was going to become a storm. become a little less organized over the last 24 hours or so. and the hurricane center is only giving it about a 50/50 shot of becoming a storm. we'll see all this energy continuing to pull off to the west. this is what the models are looking like, definitely out to the west-northwest. for sure some rain in across florida and we'll see how much land interaction. you'll notice, shepard, most of these models do pull it out into the gulf depending on what kind of storm is intact, we could be dealing with something saturday probably and across the gulf. >> and across the continent, a lot of severe weather out there, it looks like. >> i'll tell you what, it's a really rough evening and especially if you're in the northeast, look at these storms piling through such a populated area, shepard. some of these extremely severe out across long island.
