dollar deficit. we were able to work together and eliminate that deficit by cutting 4.2 billion dollars in spending. no increase intacts. we've got the new budget in place. the good news we announced today was that 1.8 billion dollar deficit that we faced coming into office six months ago is now resulted in a year end close 220 million dollars in surplus. we did it by cutting spending. reducing our budget estimates to a realistic amount. and making sure that we are doing what american families and businesses do, don't spend more than you take in, a simple formula. >> sean: this is what drives me crazy. if i was in trouble financially the first thing i would do would be to cutback on spending. by the way i've had tough economic times in my life. there was a time i was driving $250 cars i couldn't afford a hamburger place i didn't have the money at that point in my life. i know many people are struggling right now.
