so we're going to talk overwhelmingly i believe about traffic stops. megyn: marry ann, that's a piece of the law that gets too often ignored, the business of yes, they need to have reasonable suspicion to pull you over and talk about your immigration status but it has to be in the course of, quote, lawfully conduct and that according to lawmakers means you're not just going to get stopped on the street, the police have to have grounds for stopping you i.e., you were speeding or doing something else, and at that point, they're allowed to ask you about your legal status. thus some claim the president is wrong suggesting you're going to be out for ice cream with your family, you're going to get stopped. >> here's the problem. it's not going to stop illegal immigration and it's going to cost republicans votes. let's say you're out there and you do get stopped for the right or wrong reasons and you don't happen to your wallet with you, something you forgotten, what have you, the fact is you are legal, what do you do then. that's the problem here. people want real immigration reform, they want to fix this problem. they don't see the problem
