a complete surprise to me i mean it's important to realize that lebanon has been a political crisis for four years in fact lebanon was without a president for almost three years and it was only after i really returned from saudi arabia which was as much a surprise as his resignation that and yet a compromise was reached and the new president's was elected and a cow government was formed at the end of last year and apparently are reviewed in the excellent job of keeping the government together and continuing lebanon smallest of disassociation with regional conflicts to the dismay of the saudis who had hoped that he would keep as bola in check now what have the reactions been to how did he deciding to stay on inside lebanon and in the region. i think many people have been quite quite relieved and that's at least the impression i got on the streets today here in beirut. and you know with the war in
