he wasn't straight with us on why he got the job. what we were trying to figure out is why on earth would the president pluck him to be the next in line of attorney general? we couldn't find out who he talked to the white house about the position. first he said he didn't talk to anyone, then he said he had spoken to some people in the white house but maybe it was about a different position. it just left more questions that have to be answered. that's why, i think, we need to bring him back. the fact he was attorney general for a short time isn't the issue. the question is what did he do during those three months when he was attorney general that might have impacted the mueller investigation and the way the president has chosen to deal with it. >> i want to ask about the committee. you're hiring two lawyers, both vocal trump critics. what are you gearing up for with these hires? >> well, they may be trump critics, but the fact is -- the relevant fact here is that they're experts in ethics and experts in criminal law.
