really feeling the heat, especially today as we are really marking the possibility that this is likely to become the longest shutdown in this country's history. they are urging the president to basically hit the eject button and take an escape valve. one of the top allies, senator lindsey graham said this week he's pretty much hopeless and doesn't believe there is a path forward on negotiations. he believes the president should use the emergency power to move forward here. but just listen to how these same republicans, including lindsey graham a few years ago when the president in question was president obama was talking about what it would mean if a president were to use these extraordinary powers to do something without congress. >> this is wrong. it's irresponsible. it will do damage to efforts to fix a broken immigration system. this is a tremendous presidential overreach. i will try to defund the effort for him to go it alone. it will challenge him in court.
