barrier as the first african-american to represent u.s. hockey at the olympics ever. >> i didn't know i was breaking that color barrier. i didn't find out for awhile. i think it is great. >> i can't believe this is my son that is going to the olympics and breaking the color barrier. he is making history and i'm so proud of him. >> i'm the first african-american to be able to play hockey for the united states, for the olympics, but hopefully the first of many, you know? go out and try something different. >> that is a responsibility that will he live up to it? i think his personality and his likabili likability, his smile, he is 6'5", good looks, a good hockey player, you add all of that up and someone of this stature, if you're a hockey player or a casual fan, you're interested in what he has to say. the significance of that will be impactful to the sport of hockey for a long time.
