note up in alaska. there's only three outcomes. you commit suicide, taken into custody or get engaged with police. something was going to happen. he wasn't going to get away with this. >> we know that he went to the fbi's office in anchorage back in november saying he was hearing voices and intelligence agencies were telling him to join isis. he was take on to a hospital for a mental health evaluation. how does law enforcement decipher when someone comes in and says these things, decipher between those mentally ill or could be but also could pose a threat. how did they handle that? what's the kind of training they get? >> it's been my experience after 28 years in law enforcement that these things do happen and people do walk into law enforcement offices sometimes and make all kind of allegations. it's our job to decipher if they are actually credible or if there's some other issue going on. in this case, he was sent to the proper authorities to get proper screening and evaluation.
