where hundreds are out of their homes and many businesses including casinos are closed. and they are down in vicksburg where there is an entire town bracing for the spill. and in morganza, they are hoping that opening up spillways would alleviate flooding. and a separate spillway north of new orleans was opened monday. take look at this, because we want to show you the big picture now. okay. the river is expected to crest in vicksburg if you look at the dates here. vicksburg, may 19th, and that is the key point 14.5 feet above flood stage, and natchez is 16 feet over, and new orleans 2 prnt 5 feet above and baton rouge over 12 feet, and expected to crest on may 22nd if the morganza gates stay closed. of course, the crest should reach new orleans on may 23rd.
